Then you need to support our Earth (and our marine life ) by buying sustainable, ocean-friendly products. This means avoiding products produced through environmentally harmful methods and instead being conscientious of the products you buy.
This doesn’t have to be hard. Thankfully, more and more companies are deciding to combine their values with business.
Here’s one way to do this: look for products with this label – 1% For The Planet.
The mission of 1% For The Planet is to create an alliance between consumers, businesses and non-profits all aiming for the same goal: supporting a healthy planet.
Businesses who are members of 1% for the planet donate a portion of their annual net revenue towards environmental organizations and nonprofits worldwide.
Don’t think 1% is a lot? Well, it definitely adds up. More than $100 million dollars have been donated so far!
Here are some more companies dedicated to sustainability:
1)New Belgium Brewing Company
New Belgium Brewing Company is a leader in the green business community and a popular brand with beer-enthusiasts.
Substantiality and efficiency are their top priorities. Making, packaging, transporting, and selling their beer all happens with green-action in mind. Energy usage guidelines, employee philanthropy and event planning are just some ways New Belgium Brewing Company incorporates sustainability with business.

2) Caudalie Cosmetics
Caudalie is another 1% For The Planet member and also directly supports the WWF. The French cosmetics company is committed to formulating products for women with natural, sustainably harvested ingredients.
They reduce waste, reuse wastewater, use recycled and recyclable papers and plastics and contribute to reforestation initiatives and initiatives to create a sustainable, organic and fair trade Shea butter industry.

Bambu is a locally-based home and kitchen company that uses local materials and promotes sustainably sourced resources.
They are currently joining Monterey Bay Aquarium in support of healthy ocean ecosystems. All proceeds from any of their ocean-inspired products with be donated to Monterey Bay Aquarium and their Seafood Watch program. Extra plus: All the sea-life products are made from sustainably sourced renewable bamboo.
