Hurricane Harvey took Texas (& the world) by surprise when it flooded houses, streets, buildings, cars and ultimately swallowed communities whole. Throughout these communities and within these flooded homes were not just families but also beloved animals. Here are some heartwarming rescue pictures of animals that were saved during this catastrophic event.
Cats and dogs weren’t the only animals to suffer from the flood. Below are some wild animals that required some attention as well!
A large amount of effort is being applied to save and care for the displaced animals. Donations and volunteer work have helped the cause significantly.
Thankfully for Billy Hutson and other devoted volunteers, some animals were able to reach safety and get the care they need!

If you want to help the rescue of these animals, a local no-kill animal shelter and pet advocacy group is also seeking assistance. They have put their specific needs on their website and they also need help to keep the animals safe during this unpleasant time. Visit their Facebook page here.
