March is Dolphin Awareness Month and AwesomeOcean is celebrating and raising awareness of these extremely intelligent creatures and their bubbly personalities.
Check out this recently filmed video of a pod of dolphins giving Aussie surfers some lessons off Wategos Beach near Byron Bay in New South Whales, Australia.
Interesting note: most of the surfers respected surfer etiquette and let the dolphins have the right of way.
Surfing ‘Right of Way’ etiquette explained by SurfingHandbook.com:
The surfer closest to the peak of the wave has the right of way. This means if you’re paddling for a right, and a surfer on your left is also paddling for it, you must yield to him or her.
Here’s to the lucky surfers at Wategos Beach who got to experience watching dolphins drop in on their set.
