When a human thinks they’re ugly or funny looking, they use makeup or get plastic surgery to fix it. When an animal is ugly, well, they don’t have much of a choice, so they have no choice but to embrace it. The Moray Eel looks like it just walked in on something it shouldn’t have and is at a constant loss for words. These guys are nocturnal feeders, eating crustaceans (mainly crabs) and small fish. If the prey is too large, these sneaky things will channel its inner Boa constrictor and wrap themselves around their victim in order to tear them into smaller pieces.
The Devil Firefish is looking mean as can be- almost like it’s in a constant state of disappointment. The Devil Firefish Can grow up to 43 cm and weighs roughly 1.1kg. It can swallow its prey whole and sometimes even attacks divers when found in the wild. The male Devil Firefish fights other males for mating privileges and the females can lay over 30,000 eggs in a single spawning session. Be careful who you call funny looking.
This fish is looking like that crazy ex-boyfriend or girlfriend who just won’t leave you alone. The porcupinefish is able to inflate its body to almost double the size! The body of the fish is covered with long sharp spines that stay covered while the body is deflated. When the fish inflates the body, these spines stand out, and it seems like hundreds of needles are protruding from the body. This guy is small but not as vulnerable as it looks.
This is the trigger fish. There are over 40 different species of these funny looking things scattered throughout the world’s seas and aquariums alike. Native to the Eastern Pacific, Chile and Mexico, the largest of them all can reach up to 3.3 feet long.
This is the silver arowana. This fish is known for it large scales, slender shape, large size and short fins. This South American river species has earned another distinction as well: A slight mutation caused one particular arowana to have a glowing white appearance.

The Malaysian flowerhorn cichlid is truly one of a kind for how silly it looks. The diet of the Flowerhorn consists of live foods, flake, and pellet. They can also grow to be about 16 inches in size and can live for 5 to 8 years.
The Razorfish, otherwise known as a shrimpfish, are found in the Red Sea and off the east coast of Africa. These funny looking fish swim in an upright and vertical position with their nose facing down. Their bodies are flat with sharp edges and long snouts.
